PAO CHUTIJIRAWONG

The paintings are made with references from archive photographs of Thailand in the late 19th Century. They were attempts to critically look back at the history of Thailand through the lens of a contemporary artist. Working with traditional handmade paper and different mediums to render the images while preserving the sense of antiquity and ephemerality of the country.
