homemade cardboard clay, found concrete piece, steel screw, Henessy bottle on Old Bradenton Road (Sarasota, FL)

Scouting the materials by walking on the street of Old Bradenton, the work emerged through the discarded objects on the curbside. Fabric-like, empty shells cast out of cardboard boxes were installed together with found objects from the street that marked the borderline of New Town District in Sarasota, Florida.

New Town District, known as one of the oldest neighborhoods in Sarasota is also one of the neighborhoods with the highest crime rate. Through personal experience living next to the neighborhood for the past two years witnessing changes in Sarasota as the town underwent developments as a seaside vacation spot, the drastic contrast between one neighborhood to another prompted the realization of this installation.
